Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the leadingman of the island, namedPublius, whowelcomed us and entertained us courteouslythreedays.

And it happened that the father of Publius was lying in bed afflicted with recurrent fever and dysentery; and Paulwent in to see him and after he had 2prayed, he 3laid his hands on him and healed him.

After this had happened, the rest of the people on the island who haddiseases were coming to him and gettingcured.

They also honored us with manymarks of respect; and when we were settingsail, they supplied us with all we needed.
Paul Arrives at Rome
11 At the end of threemonths we setsail on 4an Alexandrianship which had wintered at the island, and which had the TwinBrothers for its figurehead.

After we put in at Syracuse, we stayed there for threedays.

From there we sailedaround and arrived at Rhegium, and a daylater a southwindsprang up, and on the secondday we came to Puteoli.

There we found some 5brethren, and were invited to stay with them for sevendays; and thus we came to Rome.

And the 6brethren, when they heardabout us, came from there as far as the Market of Appius and ThreeInns to meet us; and when Paulsaw them, he thankedGod and tookcourage.

When we enteredRome, Paul was 7allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.
