22"Men of Israel, listen to thesewords: 1Jesus the Nazarene, 2a manaattested to you by God with bmiracles and 3wonders and csignswhichGodperformedthrough Him in your midst, just as you yourselvesknow -
23this Man, delivered over by the 4predeterminedplan and foreknowledge of God, 5you nailed to a cross by the hands of dgodlessmen and put Him to death.
"eBut 6Godraised Him up again, putting an end to the fagony of death, since it 7was impossible for Him to be heldgin its power.
"For Davidsays of Him, '8I SAW THE LORDALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHTHAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN.
26'THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUEEXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESHALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE;
27BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO 9HADES, 10NORhALLOW YOUR iHOLYONE TO jUNDERGODECAY.
'YOU HAVE MADEKNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.'
"kBrethren , I mayconfidentlysay to you regarding the 11patriarchDavid that he both12died and 13was buried, and 14his tomb is lwith us to thisday.
"And so, because he was 15a prophet and knew that 16GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one mOF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE,
he lookedahead and spoke of the resurrection of nthe Christ, that 17HE WAS NEITHERABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His fleshoSUFFERDECAY.
32"ThisJesus18Godraised up again, to which we are all19witnesses.
33"Therefore having been exaltedp20to the righthand of God, and 21having received from the Father22the promise of the HolySpirit, He has 23pouredforththiswhich you bothsee and hear.
"For it was not David who ascended into qheaven, but he himselfsays: '24THE LORDSAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHTHAND,
35UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET."'
36"Therefore let all the 25house of Israelknow for certain that God has made Him both26Lord and rChrist-thisJesus27whom you crucified."
37Now when they heard this, they were spierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "tBrethren , u28what shall we do?"
38Peter said to them, "29Repent, and each of you be 30baptized in the name of JesusChrist for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the HolySpirit.
"For 31the promise is for you and your children and for allwho are 32faroff, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."
And with manyotherwords he solemnly33testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "vBe saved from this34perversegeneration!"
41Sothen, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were addedaboutthreethousandw35souls.
They were 36continuallydevotingthemselves to the apostles'teaching and to fellowship, to 37the breaking of bread and x38to prayer.
43yEveryone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many39wonders and zsigns were takingplacethrough the apostles.
And allthose who had believedaawere together and 40hadallthings in common;
and they 41began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might haveneed.
4642Day by daycontinuing with onemind in the temple, and 43breakingbreadbbfrom house to house, they were taking their ccmealstogether with gladness and ddsincerity of heart,
47praisingGod and 44havingfavor with all the people. And the Lord45was addingeeto their numberday by day46those who were being saved.
