Peter said to them, "1Repent, and each of you be 2baptized in the name of JesusChrist for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the HolySpirit.

"For 3the promise is for you and your children and for allwho are 4faroff, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."

And with manyotherwords he solemnly5testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this6perversegeneration!"

Sothen, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were addedaboutthreethousand7souls.

They were 8continuallydevotingthemselves to the apostles'teaching and to fellowship, to 9the breaking of bread and 10to prayer.

Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many11wonders and signs were takingplacethrough the apostles.

And allthose who had believed were together** and 12hadallthings in common;

and they 13began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might haveneed.

14Day by daycontinuing with onemind in the temple, and 15breakingbread from house to house, they were taking their mealstogether with gladness and sincerity of heart,

praisingGod and 16havingfavor with all the people. And the Lord17was adding to their numberday by day18those who were being saved.
