to such an extent that they evencarried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Petercame by 1at least his shadow might fall on anyone of them.

Also the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were comingtogether, bringing people who were sickorafflicted with uncleanspirits, and they were all being healed.
Imprisonment and Release
17 But the highpriestrose up, along with all his associates (that is 2the sect of 3the Sadducees ), and they were filled with jealousy.

They laidhands on the apostles and 4put them in a publicjail.

But during the night5an angel of the Lordopened the gates of the prison, and taking them out he said,

"Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple6the wholemessage of thisLife."

Upon hearing this, they entered into the temple7aboutdaybreak and began to teach. Now when 8the highpriest and his associatescame, they called9the Counciltogether, evenall the Senate of the sons of Israel, and sent orders to the prisonhouse for them to be brought.

But 10the officers who came did not find them in the prison; and they returned and reported back,

saying, "We found the prisonhouselockedquitesecurely and the guardsstanding at the doors; but when we had opened up, we foundnooneinside."

Nowwhen11the captain of the temple guard and the chiefpriestsheardthesewords, they were greatlyperplexedabout them as to what would come of this.

But someonecame and reported to them, "The menwhom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!"
