But when 1the brethrenlearned of it, they brought him down to 2Caesarea and 3sent him away to 4Tarsus.

So5the churchthroughoutallJudea and Galilee and Samariaenjoyedpeace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the HolySpirit, it continued to increase.

32Now as Peter was travelingthroughall those regions, he camedownalso to 6the saints who lived at 7Lydda.

There he found a mannamedAeneas, who had been bedridden**eightyears, for he was paralyzed.

Petersaid to him, "Aeneas, JesusChristheals you; get up and make your bed." Immediately he got up.

And all who lived at 8Lydda and 9Sharonsaw him, and they 10turned to the Lord.

Now in 11Joppa there was a disciplenamedTabitha (whichtranslated in Greek is calledDorcas ); thiswoman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charitywhich she continually did.

And it happened at that time that she fellsick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an 12upperroom.

Since Lydda was near13Joppa, 14the disciples, having heard that Peter was there*, senttwomen to him, imploring him, "Do not delay in coming to us."

SoPeterarose and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the 15upperroom; and all the 16widowsstoodbeside him, weeping and showingall the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to makewhile she was with them.

But Peter17sent them all out and 18knelt*down* and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, "19Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes, and when she sawPeter, she sat up.
