But when Paul was about to 6open his mouth, Galliosaid to the Jews, "If it were a matter of wrongor of viciouscrime, OJews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you;

but if there are 7questionsaboutwords and names and your own law, lookafter it yourselves; I amunwilling* to be a judge of these matters."

And they alltookhold of 9Sosthenes, 10the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of 11the judgmentseat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of thesethings.

Paul, having remainedmanydayslonger, 12tookleave of 13the brethren and put out to sea for 14Syria, and with him were 15Priscilla and 16Aquila. In 17Cenchrea he 18had his haircut, for he was keeping a vow.

They came to 19Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himselfentered20the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.
