He is also 1head of 2the body, the church ; and He is 3the beginning, 4the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
19
For ait was 5the Father's good pleasure for all 6the bfullness to dwell in Him,
20
and through Him to 7reconcile all things to Himself, having made 8peace through 9the blood of His cross ; through Him, I say, 10whether things on earth or things in cheaven.
21
And although you were 11formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
22
yet He has now 12reconciled you in His fleshly 13body through death, in order to 14present you before Him 15holy and blameless and beyond reproach -
23
if indeed you continue in dthe faith firmly 16established and steadfast, and not moved away from the 17hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 18in all creation under heaven, 19and of which I, Paul, ewas made a f20minister.
24
21Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 22I gdo my share on behalf of 23His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking hin Christ's afflictions.
