He is also1head of 2the body, the church ; and He is 3the beginning, 4the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to havefirstplace in everything.

For ait was 5the Father's goodpleasure for all6the bfullness to dwell in Him,

and through Him to 7reconcileallthings to Himself, having made8peacethrough9the blood of His cross ; through Him, I say, 10whether things on earthor things in cheaven.

And although you were 11formerlyalienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evildeeds,
22yet He has now12reconciled you in His fleshly13bodythroughdeath, in order to 14present you before Him 15holy and blameless and beyondreproach -
23ifindeed you continue in dthe faithfirmly16established and steadfast, and not movedaway from the 17hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed18in allcreationunderheaven, 19and of which I, Paul, ewas made a f20minister.
2421Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh22I gdo my share on behalf of 23His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lackinghin Christ'safflictions.
