81See to it that noonetakes you captivethrough2philosophy and emptydeception, according to the tradition of men, according to the 3elementaryprinciples of the world, aratherthanaccording to Christ.
For in Him all the 4fullness of Deitydwells in bodilyform,
and in Him you have been5madebcomplete, and 6He is the headcover all7rule and authority;
and in Him 8you were alsocircumcised with a circumcisionmadewithouthands, in the removal of 9the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
having been 10buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also11raised up with Him throughfaith in the working of God, who 12raised Him from the dead.
When you were 13deaddin your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He 14made you alivetogether with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
having canceled out 15the certificate of debt consisting of decreesagainst us, which was hostile to us; and 16He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
When He had e17disarmed the 18rulers and authorities, He 19made a publicdisplay of them, having 20triumphedover them throughfHim.
16Thereforenoone is to g21act as your judge in regard to 22foodor23drinkor in respect to a 24festivalor a 25newmoonor a 26Sabbathhday-
things which are 27a mere shadow of what is to come; but the isubstancejbelongs to Christ.
Let noone keep k28defrauding you of your prize by 29delighting in lself-abasement and the worship of the angels, mtaking his stand on visions he has seen, n30inflatedwithoutcause by his 31fleshlymind,
and not holdingfast to 32the head, from whom33the entirebody, being supplied and heldtogether by the joints and oligaments, grows with a growthpwhich is from God.
2034If you have died with Christqto the 35elementaryprinciples of the world, 36why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to 37decrees, such as,
"Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!"
(whichall refer 38to things destined to perishrwith use )-in accordance with the 39commandments and teachings of men?
23These are matterswhichhave, to be sure, the sappearance of wisdom in t40self-madereligion and self-abasement and 41severetreatment of the body, but are of novalueagainst42fleshlyindulgence.
