aalso we b1have obtained an inheritance, having been 2predestined 3according to His purpose who works all things 4after the counsel of His will,

to the end that we who were the first to hope in cChrist would be 5to the praise of His glory.

In dHim, you also, after listening to 6the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation -having also ebelieved, you were 7sealed in fHim with 8the Holy Spirit of promise,
14
who is g9given as a pledge of 10our inheritance, with a view to the 11redemption of 12God's own possession, 13to the praise of His glory.
15
For this reason I too, 14having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and hyour love for 15all the isaints,
16
16do not cease giving thanks for you, 17while making mention of you in my prayers ;

that the 18God of our Lord Jesus Christ, 19the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of 20wisdom and of 21revelation in the jknowledge of Him.

I pray that 22the eyes of your heart kmay be enlightened, so that you will know what is the 23hope of His 24calling, what are 25the riches of the glory of 26His inheritance in 27the lsaints,

and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. 28These are in accordance with the working of the 29strength of His might
20
which He brought about in Christ, when He 30raised Him from the dead and 31seated Him at His right hand in 32the heavenly places,
21
far above 33all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every 34name that is named, not only in 35this age but also in the one to come.
22
And He 36put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as 37head over all things to the church,
