Then he led me to the 1gate, the gatefacingtoward the east;
and behold, the 2glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the 3east. And His 4voice was like the sound of manywaters; and the earth5shone with His glory.
And it was like the appearance of the visionwhich I saw, like the 6visionwhich I saw when aHe came to 7destroy the city. And the visions were like the visionwhich I saw by the 8riverChebar; and I 9fell on my face.
And the glory of the LORDcame into the house by the way of the gatefacingtoward the 10east.
And the 11Spiritlifted me up and brought me into the innercourt; and behold, the 12glory of the LORDfilled the house.
Then I heard one speaking to me from the house, while a 13man was standingbeside me.
He said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of My 14throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will 15dwellamong the sons of Israelforever. And the house of Israel will not againdefile My holyname, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry and by the b16corpses of their kingscwhen they die,
by setting their threshold by My threshold and their doorpostbeside My doorpost, with only the wallbetween Me and them. And they have 17defiled My holyname by their abominationswhich they have committed. So I have consumed them in My anger.
9"Now let them 18putaway their harlotry and the dcorpses of their kingsfar from Me; and I will 19dwellamong them forever.
"As for you, son of man, e20describe the ftemple to the house of Israel, that they may be 21ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the g22plan.
11"If they are ashamed of all that they have done, makeknown to them the hdesign of the house, its structure, its 23exits, its entrances, all its designs, all its statutesi, and all its laws. And write it 24in their sight, so that they may observe its wholejdesign and all its statutes and 25do them.
12"This is the klaw of the house: its entirelarea on the top of the 26mountainallaround shall be mostholy. Behold, this is the mlaw of the house.
"And these are the measurements of the 27altar by cubits (the 28cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth ): the nbase shall be a cubit and the width a cubit, and its border on its edgeroundaboutonespan; and this shall be the height of the obase of the altar.
"From the base on the ground to the lower29ledge shall be twocubits and the width one cubit; and from the smallerledge to the largerledge shall be fourcubits and the widthponecubit.
"The qaltarhearth shall be fourcubits; and from the raltarhearth shall extend upwardsfour30horns.
"Now the saltarhearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelvewide, 31square in its foursides.
"The ledge shall be fourteen cubits long by fourteenwide in its foursides, the borderaround it shall be half a cubit and its base shall be a cubitroundabout; and its 32steps shall t33face the east."
And He said to me, "34Son of man, thussays the LorduGOD, 'These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is built, to offer35burntofferings on it and to 36sprinkleblood on it.
'You shall give to the Leviticalpriestswho are from the offspring of 37Zadok, who draw38near to Me to minister to Me,' declares the LordGOD, 'a 39youngbull for a 40sinoffering.
'You shall takesome of its blood and put it on its four41horns and on the fourcorners of the 42ledge and on the borderroundabout; thus you shall 43cleanse it and makeatonement for it.
'You shall also take the bull for the sinoffering, and it shall be 44burned in the appointedplace of the house, outside the sanctuary.
'On the secondday you shall offer a 45malegoatwithoutblemish for a sinoffering, and they shall 46cleanse the altar as they cleansed it with the bull.
'When you have finishedcleansing it, you shall present a 47youngbullwithoutblemish and a 48ramwithoutblemish from the flock.
'You shall present them before the LORD, and the priests shall throw49salt on them, and they shall offer them up as a burntoffering to the LORD.
'50For sevendays you shall preparedaily a goat for a sinoffering; also a youngbull and a ram from the flock, withoutblemish, shall be prepared.
'For sevendays they shall makeatonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they vconsecrate it.
'When they have completed the days, it shall be that on the 51eighthday and onward, the priests shall woffer your burntofferings on the altar, and your 52peaceofferings; and I will 53accept you,' declares the LordGOD."
