I will 1stand on my guardpost And station myself on the rampart ; And I will 2keepwatch to see3what He will speak to me, And how I may replyawhen I am reproved.

Then the LORDanswered me and said, "4Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That bthe one who creads it may run.

"For the vision is yet for the 5appointedtime ; It dhastens toward the goal and it will not efail. Though it tarries, 6wait for it; For it will certainlycome, it 7will not delay.
4"Behold, as for the 8proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the 9righteous will live by his ffaith.
5"Furthermore, 10winebetrays the 11haughtyman, So that he does not 12stay at home. He 13enlarges his appetite like Sheol, And he is like death, neversatisfied. He also gathers to himself allnations And collects to himself allpeoples.

"Will not all of these14take up a taunt-songagainst him, Even mockery and insinuations against him And say, '15Woe to him who increases what is not his- For howlong - And makes himself grich with loans ?'

"Will not hyour creditors16rise up suddenly, And those who icollect from you awaken ? Indeed, you will becomeplunder for them.
8"Because you have 17lootedmanynations, All the remainder of the peoples will loot you- Because of humanbloodshed and violencejdone to the land, To the town and all its inhabitants.
