Then Elihucontinued and said,

"Do you thinkthis is according to 1justice ? Do you say, 'My righteousness is morethanGod's '?

"For you say, '2Whatadvantage will it be to aYou? 3Whatprofit will I have, morethan if I had sinned ?'
4
"I will answer you, And your friends with you.
5
"4Look at the heavens and see ; And behold5the clouds -they are higherthan you.
6"If you have sinned, 6what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him?
7"If you are righteous, 7what do you give to Him, Orwhat does He receive from your hand ?
8
"Your wickedness is for a manlike yourself, And your righteousness is for a son of man.
9"Because of the 8multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for helpbecause of the arm9of the mighty.

"But 10no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who 11givessongs in the night,

Who 12teaches us morethan the beasts of the earth And makes us wiserthan the birds of the heavens ?'
12"There13they cry out, but He does not answerBecause of the pride of evilmen.
13"Surely14God will not listen to ban empty cry, Nor will the Almightyregard it.
14"Howmuchlesswhen15you say you do not behold Him, The 16case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!

"And now, because He has not visited in His anger, Nor has He acknowledgedctransgressionwell,

So Jobopens his mouthdemptily ; He multiplieswords17withoutknowledge."
