John 11:1-9

The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus

Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of 1Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister 2Martha.
It was the Mary who 3anointed 4the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, "5Lord, behold, 6he whom You love is sick."
But when Jesus heard this, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but for 7the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it."
Now Jesus loved 8Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
So when He heard that he was sick, He then stayed two days longer in the place where He was.
Then after this He said to the disciples, "9Let us go to Judea again."
The disciples said to Him, "10Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking 11to stone You, and are You going there again?"
Jesus answered, "12Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
