32
Therefore, whenMarycamewhereJesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, "1Lord, 2if You had beenhere, my brother would not have died."
33
WhenJesusthereforesaw her weeping, and 3the Jews who came with her also weeping, He 4was deeplymoved in spirit and 5was troubled,
34
and said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to Him, "Lord, come and see."
36
So7the Jews were saying, "Seehow He 8loved him!"
37
But some of them said, "Could not thisman, who 9opened the eyes of the blindman, havekeptthismanalso from dying?"
38
SoJesus, again being deeplymovedwithin*, came to the tomb. Now it was a 10cave, and a stone was lyingagainst it.
39
Jesussaid, "Remove the stone."Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, "Lord, by thistime there will be a stench, for he has been dead 11fourdays."
40
Jesussaid to her, "12Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"
41
So they removed the 13stone. ThenJesus14raised His eyes, and said, "15Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
42
"I knew that You alwayshear Me; but 16because of the peoplestandingaround I said it, so that they may believe that 17You sent Me."
