36
So2the Jews were saying, "Seehow He 3loved him!"
37
But some of them said, "Could not thisman, who 4opened the eyes of the blindman, havekeptthismanalso from dying?"
38
SoJesus, again being deeplymovedwithin*, came to the tomb. Now it was a 5cave, and a stone was lyingagainst it.
39
Jesussaid, "Remove the stone."Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, "Lord, by thistime there will be a stench, for he has been dead 6fourdays."
40
Jesussaid to her, "7Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"
41
So they removed the 8stone. ThenJesus9raised His eyes, and said, "10Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
42
"I knew that You alwayshear Me; but 11because of the peoplestandingaround I said it, so that they may believe that 12You sent Me."
43
When He had saidthesethings, He cried out with a loudvoice, "Lazarus, comeforth."
44
The man who had diedcameforth, 13boundhand and foot with wrappings, and 14his face was wrappedaround with a cloth. Jesussaid to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."
45
15Thereforemany of the Jews16who came to Mary, and 17sawwhat He had done, believed in Him.
