But though He had performedsomanysignsbefore them, yet they were not believing in Him.

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophetwhich he spoke: "4LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?"

For thisreason they could not believe, for Isaiahsaidagain,

"5HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE 6HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO* THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM"

ThesethingsIsaiahsaidbecause7he saw His glory, and 8he spoke of Him.

Nevertheless*9manyeven of 10the rulersbelieved in Him, but 11because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear* that they would be 12put out of the synagogue;

13for they loved the approval of menratherthan the approval of God.

And Jesuscried out and said, "14He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.
