The 1largecrowd of the Jewsthenlearned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus'sakeonly, but that they might alsoseeLazarus, 2whom He raised from the dead.

But the chiefpriestsplanned to putLazarus to deathalso;

because3on account of him 4many of the Jews were goingaway and were believing in Jesus.
Jesus Enters Jerusalem
12 On the nextday5the largecrowd who had come to 6the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

took the branches of the palmtrees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, "7Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the 8King of Israel."

Jesus, finding a youngdonkey, sat on it; as it is written,

"9FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY'SCOLT."

10Thesethings His disciples did not understand at the first; but whenJesus11was glorified, then they remembered that thesethings were written of Him, and that they had donethesethings to Him.

So12the people, who were with Him when He calledLazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead, continued to testify about Him.

13For thisreasonalso the peoplewent and met Him, 14because they heard that He had performedthissign.

So the Phariseessaid to oneanother, "You see that you are not doinganygood; look, the world has goneafter Him."
