"Look, He is speakingpublicly, and they are sayingnothing to Him. 1The rulers do not reallyknow that this is the Christ, do they?
27
"However, 2we knowwherethisman is from; but whenever the Christ may come, nooneknowswhere He is from."
28
ThenJesuscried out in the temple, 3teaching and saying, "4You bothknow Me and knowwhere I am from; and 5I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
29
"6I know Him, because7I am from Him, and 8He sent Me."
30
So they 9were seeking to seize Him; and nomanlaid his hand on Him, because His 10hour had not yetcome.
31
But 11many of the crowdbelieved in Him; and they were saying, "12When the Christcomes, He will not performmore13signs than those whichthisman has, will He?"
32
The Phariseesheard the crowdmutteringthesethingsabout Him, and the chiefpriests and the Phariseessent14officers to 15seize Him.
33
ThereforeJesussaid, "16For a littlewhilelonger I am with you, then17I go to Him who sent Me.
34
"18You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot*come."
35
19The Jewsthensaid to oneanother, "20Where does thismanintend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to 21the Dispersion among 22the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He?
36
"What is thisstatement that He said, '23You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot*come '?"
