18
"I am He who testifiesaboutMyself, and 1the Father who sent Me testifiesabout Me."
19
So they were saying to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesusanswered, "You knowneither Me nor My Father; 2if you knew Me, you would know My Fatheralso."
20
Thesewords He spoke in 3the treasury, as 4He taught in the temple; and nooneseized Him, because5His hour had not yetcome.
21
Then He saidagain to them, "I goaway, and 6you will seek Me, and 7will die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot*come."
22
So8the Jews were saying, "Surely He will not killHimself, will He, since He says, '9Where I am going, you cannot*come '?"
23
And He was saying to them, "10You are from below, I am from above; 11you are of thisworld, 12I am not of thisworld.
24
"Therefore I said to you that you 13will die in your sins; for unless* you believe that 14I am He, 15you will die in your sins."
25
So they were saying to Him, "Who are You?" Jesussaid to them, "What* have I been saying to you from the beginning?
26
"I havemanythings to speak and to judgeconcerning you, but 16He who sent Me is true; and 17the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world."
27
They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father.
28
SoJesussaid, "When you 18lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that 19I am He, and 20I donothing on My owninitiative, but I speakthesethings as the Fathertaught Me.
