And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "1Rabbi (which translated means Teacher ), where are You staying?"
He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they came and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
2One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the 3Messiah " (which translated means Christ ).
He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of 4John; you shall be called 5Cephas " (which is translated 6Peter ).
7The next day He purposed to go into 8Galilee, and He found 9Philip. And Jesus said to him, "10Follow Me."
Now 11Philip was from 12Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
13Philip found 14Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom 15Moses in the Law and also 16the Prophets wrote -Jesus of 17Nazareth, 18the son of Joseph."
Nathanael said to him, "19Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" 20Philip said to him, "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, "Behold, an 21Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!"
Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before 22Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
