"Then he said to another, 'And howmuch do you owe?' And he said, 'A hundredmeasures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and writeeighty.'

"And his masterpraised the unrighteousmanagerbecause he had actedshrewdly; for the sons of 1thisage are moreshrewd in relation to their ownkindthan the 2sons of light.

"And I say to you, 3makefriends for yourselves by means of the 4wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, 5they will receive you into the eternaldwellings.

"6He who is faithful in a verylittlething is faithfulalso in much; and he who is unrighteous in a verylittlething is unrighteousalso in much.

"Thereforeif you have not beenfaithful in the use of unrighteous7wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?

"And if you have not beenfaithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?

"8Noservantcanservetwomasters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, orelse he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot*serveGod and 9wealth."

Now the Pharisees, who were 10lovers of money, were listening to allthesethings and 11were scoffing at Him.

And He said to them, "You are those who 12justifyyourselves in the sight of men, but 13Godknows your hearts; for that which is highlyesteemedamongmen is detestable in the sight of God.

"14The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed untilJohn; since that time15the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.
