But Jesus answered, "I tell you, ifthesebecomesilent, 1the stones will cry out!"

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 2weptover it,

saying, "If you had known in thisday, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will 3throw up a barricade against you, and 4surround you and hem you in on everyside,
44
and they will level you to the ground and your childrenwithin you, and 5they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because* you did not recognize6the time of your visitation."
Traders Driven from the Temple
457Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling,

saying to them, "It is written, '8AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' 9but you have made it a ROBBERS'DEN."

And 10He was teachingdaily* in the temple; but the chiefpriests and the scribes and the leadingmen among the people11were trying to destroy Him,

and they could not findanything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.
