They questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, we know that You speak and teachcorrectly, and You are not partial* to any, but teach the way of God in truth.

"Is it lawful for us 1to paytaxes to Caesar, or not?"

But He detected their trickery and said to them,

"Show Me a denarius. Whoselikeness and inscription does it have?" They said, "Caesar's."

And He said to them, "Then2render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

And they were unable* to 3catch Him in a saying in the presence of the people; and beingamazed at His answer, they becamesilent.
Is There a Resurrection?
274Now there came to Him some of the 5Sadducees (who say that there is noresurrection ),

and they questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, Moseswrote for us that 6IF A MAN'SBROTHERDIES, having a wife, AND HE IS CHILDLESS, HIS BROTHER SHOULD MARRY THE WIFE AND RAISE UP CHILDREN TO HIS BROTHER.
