Then He told them a parable: "Behold the figtree and all the trees;

as soon* as they putforth leaves, you see it and 1know for yourselves that summer is nownear.

"So you also, when you seethesethingshappening, recognize that 2the kingdom of God is near.

"Truly I say to you, thisgeneration will not passawayuntilallthingstakeplace.

"3Heaven and earth will passaway, but My words will not passaway.

"4Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighteddown with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenlylike a trap;
35
for it will come upon allthose who dwell on the face of all the earth.

"But 5keep on the alert at alltimes, praying that you may havestrength to escapeallthesethings that are about to takeplace, and to 6standbefore the Son of Man."

Now during the day He was 7teaching in the temple, but 8at evening He would go out and spend the night on 9the mount that is calledOlivet.

And all the people would get up 10early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him.
