"For if they dothesethingswhen the tree is green, what will happenwhen it is dry?"

3Twoothersalso, who were criminals, were being ledaway to be put to death with Him.
The Crucifixion
334When they came to the placecalled The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

But Jesus was saying, "5Father, forgive them; for they do not knowwhat they are doing."6And they castlots, dividing up His garmentsamong themselves.

And the peoplestood by, looking on. And even the 7rulers were sneering at Him, saying, "He savedothers; 8let Him saveHimselfifthis is the Christ of God, His ChosenOne."

The soldiersalsomocked Him, coming up to Him, 9offering Him sourwine

and saying, "10If You are the King of the Jews, saveYourself!"

Now there was also an inscriptionabove Him, "11THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

12One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurlingabuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? 13SaveYourself and us!"
