And all were speakingwell of Him, and wondering at the graciouswords which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, "1Is this not Joseph'sson?"

And He said to them, "Nodoubt you will quotethisproverb to Me, 'Physician, healyourself! Whatever we heard was done2at Capernaum, dohere in 3your hometown as well.' "

And He said, "Truly I say to you, 4noprophet is welcome in his hometown.

"But I say to you in truth, there were manywidows in Israel5in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for threeyears and sixmonths, when a greatfaminecameoverall the land;
26
and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but 6only* to Zarephath, in the land of 7Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27
"And there were manylepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but 8only*Naaman the Syrian."

And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heardthesethings;
29
and they got up and 9drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.

But 10passingthrough their midst, He went His way.

And 11He camedown to 12Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;
32
and 13they were amazed at His teaching, for 14His message was with authority.
