Now when Jesusheardthis, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the crowd that was following Him, "I say to you, 1not even in Israel have I foundsuchgreatfaith."

When those who had been sentreturned to the house, they found the slave in goodhealth.

Soonafterwards* He went to a citycalledNain; and His disciples were goingalong with Him, accompanied by a largecrowd.

Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the onlyson of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeablecrowd from the city was with her.

When 2the Lordsaw her, He feltcompassion for her, and said to her, "Do not weep."

And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearerscame to a halt. And He said, "Youngman, I say to you, arise!"

The deadmansat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother.

3Feargripped them all, and they began 4glorifyingGod, saying, "A great5prophet has arisenamong us!" and, "God has visited His people!"

6Thisreportconcerning Him went out alloverJudea and in all the surroundingdistrict.
