29"But immediatelyafter the 1tribulation of thosedays2THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND 3THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

"And then4the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and thenall the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see5the SON OF MANCOMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and greatglory.

"And 6He will sendforth His angels with 7A GREATTRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHERTOGETHER His 8elect from 9the fourwinds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Parable of the Fig Tree
32"Nowlearn the parable from the figtree: when its branch has alreadybecometender and putsforth its leaves, you know that summer is near;

so, you too, when you seeallthesethings, recognize that He is near, right 10at the door.

"Truly I say to you, 11thisgeneration will not passawayuntilallthesethingstakeplace.

"12Heaven and earth will passaway, but My words will not passaway.

"But 13of that day and hournooneknows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Fatheralone.

"For the 14coming of the Son of Man will be 15justlike the days of Noah.

"For as in thosedaysbefore the flood they were eating and drinking, 16marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that 17Noahentered the ark,

and they did not understanduntil the floodcame and took them allaway; so will the 18coming of the Son of Man be.

"Then there will be twomen in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.

"19Two women will be grinding at the 20mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
Be Ready for His Coming
42"Therefore21be on the alert, for you do not knowwhichday your Lord is coming.

"But be sure of this, that 22if the head of the house had known23at whattime of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

"For thisreason24you also must be ready; for 25the Son of Man is coming at an hourwhen you do not think He will.

"26Whothen is the 27faithful and 28sensibleslavewhom his master29put in charge of his household to give them their food at the propertime?

"Blessed is that slavewhom his masterfindssodoing when he comes.

"Truly I say to you that 30he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

"But if that evilslavesays in his heart, 'My master is not coming for a longtime,'

and begins to beat his fellowslaves and eat and drink with drunkards;

the master of that slave will come on a daywhen he does not expect him and at an hourwhich he does not know,

and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that placethere will be 31weeping and gnashing of teeth.
