And when they had crucified Him, 1they divided up His garmentsamong themselves by castinglots.

And sittingdown, they began to 2keepwatchover Him there.

And above His head they put up the chargeagainst Him which read, "3THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

At that timetworobbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.

And thosepassing by were hurlingabuse at Him, 4wagging their heads
40
and saying, "5You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in threedays, saveYourself! 6If You are the Son of God, comedown from the cross."

In the sameway the chiefpriestsalso, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying,
42
"7He savedothers; He cannot*saveHimself. 8He is the King of Israel; let Him nowcomedown from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
43
"9HE TRUSTS IN GOD; LET GODRESCUE Him now, IF HE DELIGHTS IN HIM; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "

10The robbers who had been crucified with Him were alsoinsulting Him with the same words.

11Now from the sixthhourdarknessfell upon all the landuntil the ninthhour.
