Matthew 4:7-17

Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is written, '1YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.' "
2Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
and he said to Him, "3All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."
Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, '4YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.' "
Then the devil left Him; and behold, 5angels came and began to minister to Him.

Jesus Begins His Ministry

Now when Jesus heard that 6John had been taken into custody, 7He withdrew into Galilee;
and leaving Nazareth, He came and 8settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
"9THE LAND OF ZEBULUN AND THE LAND OF NAPHTALI, BY THE WAY OF THE SEA, BEYOND THE JORDAN, GALILEE OF THE GENTILES -
"10THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED."
11From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "12Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
