7
then ahe shall 6confessbhis sinswhichche has committed, and he 7shall makerestitution in full for his wrong and add to it one-fifth of it, and give it to him whom he has wronged.
8
'But if the manhasnodrelative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution which is made for the wrong must go to the LORD for the priest, besides the ram of atonement, by whichatonement is made for him.
9
'8Also everyecontribution pertaining to all the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the priest, shall be his.
10
'So everyman'sholy gifts shall be his; whateveranymangives to the priest, it 9becomes his.' "
11
Then the LORDspoke to Moses, saying,
12"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'Ifanyman'swife10goesastray and is unfaithful to him,
13
and a manhas11intercourse with her and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and she is fundetected, although she has defiledherself, and there is nowitness against her and she has not been caught in the act,
14gif a spirit of 12jealousycomesover him and he is jealous of his wife when she has defiled herself, or if a spirit of jealousycomesover him and he is jealous of his wife when she has not defiled herself,
15
the man shall then bring his wife to the priest, and shall bring as han offering for her one-tenth of an iephah of barleymeal ; he shall not pouroil on it norputfrankincense on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of memorial, 13a reminder of iniquity.
16
'Then the priest shall bring her near and have her standbefore the LORD,
17
and the priest shall takeholywater in an earthenwarevessel ; and jhe shall takesome of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water.

20if you, however, have 15goneastray, being under the authority of your husband, and if you have defiled yourself and a manotherthan your husbandhashadintercourse with you"
21
(then the priest shall have the woman16swear with the oath of the curse, and the priest shall say to the woman ), "the LORDmake you a curse and an oathamong your people by the LORD'Smaking your thighmwasteaway and your abdomenswell ;
22
and thiswater that brings a curse shall go into your nstomach, and make your abdomenswell and your thighowasteaway." And the woman17shall say, "Amen. Amen."
23
'The priest shall then writethesecurses on a scroll, and he shall pwash them off into the water of bitterness.
24
'Then he shall make the womandrink the water of bitterness that brings a curse, so that the water which brings a curse will go into her qand cause bitterness.
25
'The priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman'shand, and he shall wave the grain offeringbefore the LORD and bring it to the altar ;
26
and 18the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering as its memorialoffering and offer it up in smoke on the altar, and afterward he shall make the womandrink the water.
27
'When he has made her drink the water, then it shall come about, if she has defiled herself and has beenunfaithful to her husband, that the water which brings a curse will go into her rand cause bitterness, and her abdomen will swell and her thigh will swasteaway, and the woman will become19a curseamong her people.
28
'But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, she will then be free and conceivetchildren.
29'This is the law of jealousy : when a wife, being under the authority of her husband, 20goesastray and defiles herself,
30orwhen a spirit of jealousycomesover a man and he is jealous of his wife, he shall then make the womanstandbefore the LORD, and the priest shall applyallthislaw to her.
