"So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?"
behold, I have done according to your words. Behold, I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has been no one like you before you, nor shall one like you arise after you.
Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore .
He said, "O LORD , the God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth beneath , keeping covenant and showing lovingkindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart,
if they take thought in the land where they have been taken captive, and repent and make supplication to You in the land of those who have taken them captive, saying, 'We have sinned and have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly ';
On the eighth day he sent the people away and they blessed the king. Then they went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown to David His servant and to Israel His people.
The LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built by putting My name there forever , and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually .
All the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.
He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away.
Jeroboam said in his heart, "Now the kingdom will return to the house of David.
"If this people go up to offer sacrifices in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will return to their lord , even to Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah."
Then he went up to the altar which he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised in his own heart; and he instituted a feast for the sons of Israel and went up to the altar to burn incense.
"Answer me, O LORD , answer me, that this people may know that You, O LORD , are God, and that You have turned their heart back again."
Jezebel his wife said to him, "Do you now reign over Israel? Arise, eat bread, and let your heart be joyful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."
