He said, "O LORD , the God of Israel, there is no god like You in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant and showing lovingkindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart;
if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been taken captive, and pray toward their land which You have given to their fathers and the city which You have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Your name,
Then on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their tents, rejoicing and happy of heart because of the goodness that the LORD had shown to David and to Solomon and to His people Israel.
Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king's palace, and successfully completed all that he had planned on doing in the house of the LORD and in his palace.
"For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever , and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually .
And all the kings of the earth were seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.
He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek the LORD .
He took great pride in the ways of the LORD and again removed the high places and the Asherim from Judah.
Now it came about after this that Joash decided to restore the house of the LORD .
"You said, 'Behold, you have defeated Edom.' And your heart has become proud in boasting. Now stay at home; for why should you provoke trouble so that you, even you, would fall and Judah with you?"
But when he became strong, his heart was so proud that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful to the LORD his God, for he entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.
The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the LORD .
Then Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good insight in the things of the LORD . So they ate for the appointed seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD God of their fathers.
But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
However, Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
