The expression of their faces bears witness against them, And they display their sin like Sodom; They do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves.
Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes;
He touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven."
Therefore through this Jacob's iniquity will be forgiven; And this will be the full price of the pardoning of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones like pulverized chalk stones; When Asherim and incense altars will not stand.
"Woe to the rebellious children," declares the LORD , "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin;
"Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, That her iniquity has been removed, That she has received of the LORD'S hand Double for all her sins."
"You have bought Me not sweet cane with money, Nor have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices; Rather you have burdened Me with your sins, You have wearied Me with your iniquities.
"I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.
"I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud And your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you."
"Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their transgression And to the house of Jacob their sins.
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
For our transgressions are multiplied before You, And our sins testify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And we know our iniquities:
