O LORD , do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.
O LORD , rebuke me not in Your wrath, And chasten me not in Your burning anger.
They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,
Destroy them in wrath, destroy them that they may be no more; That men may know that God rules in Jacob To the ends of the earth. Selah.
For the wrath of man shall praise You; With a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.
But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.
Pour out Your wrath upon the nations which do not know You, And upon the kingdoms which do not call upon Your name.
Your wrath has rested upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.
How long, O LORD ? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?
For we have been consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.
Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; Poison of a viper is under their lips. Selah.
