For they all1seekafter their own interests, not those of ChristJesus.
But you know2of his provenworth, that 3he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel4like a child serving his father.
235Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I seehowthings go with me;
and 6I trust in the Lord that I myselfalso will be comingshortly.
But I thought it necessary to send to you 7Epaphroditus, my brother and 8fellowworker and 9fellowsoldier, who is also your a10messenger and 11minister to my need;
26because he was longingbfor you all and was distressedbecause you had heard that he was sick.
For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but Godhadmercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not havesorrow upon sorrow.
28Therefore I have sent him all the moreeagerlyso that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be lessconcerned about you.
2912Receive him then in the Lord with alljoy, and 13holdmenlike him in highregard;
30because he cameclose to deathc14for the work of Christ, risking his life to 15completedwhat was deficient in your service to me.
