Psalms 4

1 Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2 O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah.
3 But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him.
4 Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the LORD .
6 Many are saying, "Who will show us any good?" Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O LORD !
7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound.
8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD , make me to dwell in safety.

Psalms 12

1 Help, LORD , for the godly man ceases to be, For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
2 They speak falsehood to one another; With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.
3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaks great things;
4 Who have said, "With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; who is lord over us?"
5 "Because of the devastation of the afflicted, because of the groaning of the needy, Now I will arise," says the LORD ; "I will set him in the safety for which he longs."
6 The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.
7 You, O LORD , will keep them; You will preserve him from this generation forever.
8 The wicked strut about on every side When vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

Psalms 13

1 How long, O LORD ? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
4 And my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken.
5 But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
6 I will sing to the LORD , Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalms 26

1 Vindicate me, O LORD , for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.
2 Examine me, O LORD , and try me; Test my mind and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth.
4 I do not sit with deceitful men, Nor will I go with pretenders.
5 I hate the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked.
6 I shall wash my hands in innocence, And I will go about Your altar, O LORD ,
7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving And declare all Your wonders.
8 O LORD , I love the habitation of Your house And the place where Your glory dwells.
9 Do not take my soul away along with sinners, Nor my life with men of bloodshed,
10 In whose hands is a wicked scheme, And whose right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; Redeem me, and be gracious to me.
12 My foot stands on a level place; In the congregations I shall bless the LORD .

Psalms 40

1 I waited patiently for the LORD ; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD .
4 How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.
6 Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart."
9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O LORD , You know.
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
11 You, O LORD , will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.
12 For evils beyond number have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD , to deliver me; Make haste, O LORD , to help me.
14 Let those be ashamed and humiliated together Who seek my life to destroy it; Let those be turned back and dishonored Who delight in my hurt.
15 Let those be appalled because of their shame Who say to me, "Aha, aha!"
16 Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, "The LORD be magnified!"
17 Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.
