2
and she was with child ; and she 5cried out, being in labor and in pain to givebirth.
3Then6anothersignappeared in heaven : and behold, a greatred7dragonhaving8sevenheads and 9tenhorns, and on his heads were 10sevendiadems.
4
And his tailsweptaway a 11third of the stars of heaven and 12threw them to the earth. And the 13dragonstoodbefore the woman who was about to givebirth, so that when she gavebirth14he might devour her child.
5
And 15she gavebirth to a son, a male child, who is to a16ruleall the bnations with a rod of iron ; and her child was 17caught up to God and to His throne.
6Then the womanfled into the wildernesswhere she had a placeprepared by God, so that therecshe would be nourished for 18onethousandtwohundred and sixtydays.
7
And there was war in heaven, 19Michael and his angelswagingwar with the 20dragon. The dragon and 21his angelswagedwar,
8
and they were not strongenough, and there was nolonger a placefound for them in heaven.
9
And the great22dragon was thrown down, the 23serpent of old who is called the devil and 24Satan, who 25deceives the wholedworld ; he was 26thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
10Then I heard27a loudvoice in heaven, saying, "Now the 28salvation, and the power, and the 29kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the 30accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our Godday and night.
11
"And they 31overcame him because of 32the blood of the Lamb and because of 33the word of their testimony, and they 34did not love their lifeevenewhen faced with death.
12
"For thisreason, 35rejoice, O heavens and 36you who fdwell in them. 37Woe to the earth and the sea, because38the devil has comedown to you, havinggreatwrath, knowing that he has only 39a shorttime."
13
And when the 40dragonsaw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted41the womanwhogavebirth to the male child.
14
But the 42twowings of the greateagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly43into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for 44a time and times and half a time, from the gpresence of the serpent.
15
And the 45serpenthpouredwaterlike a river out of his mouthafter the woman, so that he might cause her to be sweptaway with the flood.
16iBut the earthhelped the woman, and the earthopened its mouth and drank up the riverwhich the dragonjpoured out of his mouth.
17So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and wentoff to 46makewar with the rest of her k47children, who 48keep the commandments of God and 49hold to the testimony of Jesus.
