9 1I, John, your 2brother and 3fellow partaker in the tribulation and 4kingdom and a5perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos 6because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 I was b7in the Spirit on 8the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice 9like the sound of a trumpet, 11 saying, "10Write in a cbook what you see, and send it to the 11seven churches : to 12Ephesus and to 13Smyrna and to 14Pergamum and to 15Thyatira and to 16Sardis and to 17Philadelphia and to 18Laodicea." 12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw 19seven golden lampstands ; 13 and 20in the middle of the lampstands I saw one 21like da son of man, 22clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and 23girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 His head and His 24hair were white like white wool, like snow ; and 25His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His 26feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His 27voice was like the sound of many waters. 16 In His right hand He held 28seven stars, and out of His mouth came a 29sharp two-edged sword ; and His 30face was like 31the sun eshining in its strength. 17 When I saw Him, I 32fell at His feet like a dead man.
