Exodus 13:21-22; Exodus 13:16; Deuteronomy 8:4; Deuteronomy 8:15-16; Deuteronomy 8:10

21 The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night.

22 And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.

16 This ceremony will be like a mark branded on your hand or your forehead. It is a reminder that the power of the LORD ’s mighty hand brought us out of Egypt.”

4 For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell.

15 Do not forget that he led you through the great and terrifying wilderness with its poisonous snakes and scorpions, where it was so hot and dry. He gave you water from the rock!

16 He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good.

10 When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.
