23 But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, father of Gilead.

1 Chronicles 2:23

And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from
them
Cities or countries which the Geshurites and Aramaeans, or Syrians, before inhabited; and which he took from them, together with other towns, which, being taken by him, were called after his name; the Targum is, the Geshurites and Aramaeans took the villages of Jair from them; that is, from the sons of Jair in later times; see ( Joshua 12:5 ) ( 13:13 )

with Kenath, and the towns thereof;
which Jair took by Nobah his general, and called it after his name, ( Numbers 32:42 ) , even sixty cities; see ( Deuteronomy 3:4-14 ) ( Joshua 13:30 )

all these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead:
being given him by Moses, ( Numbers 32:40 ) ( Deuteronomy 3:15 ) .

21 Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub;
22 and Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead.
23 But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, father of Gilead.
24 After the death of Hezron, in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur, father of Tekoa.
25 The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.
