14 Todo el pueblo que Ismael llevaba cautivo desde Mizpa se dio la vuelta y se fue con Johanán hijo de Carea.

Jeremiah 41:14

So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from
Mizpah cast about
Or turned about, and wheeled off from Ishmael, and deserted him at once; not at all regarding his authority, nor fearing his menaces or his power; being in sight of the captains and their forces, they were determined to join, and put themselves under their protection, knowing them to be their friends, and that they, came to deliver them: and returned, and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah;
turned their backs on Ishmael, and marched directly to Johanan, and the captains of the forces under them.

12 reunieron a todos sus hombres y fueron a pelear contra él. Lo encontraron cerca del gran estanque que está en Gabaón.

13 Y sucedió que toda la gente que estaba con Ismael se alegró al ver a Johanán hijo de Carea, acompañado de todos los jefes militares.

14 Todo el pueblo que Ismael llevaba cautivo desde Mizpa se dio la vuelta y se fue con Johanán hijo de Carea.

15 Pero Ismael hijo de Netanías y ocho de sus hombres se escaparon de Johanán y huyeron hacia Amón.

16 Entonces Johanán hijo de Carea, junto con todos los jefes militares que lo acompañaban, tomaron y rescataron al resto del pueblo que desde Mizpa se había llevado Ismael hijo de Netanías, luego de haber asesinado a Guedalías hijo de Ajicán: eran soldados, mujeres, niños y altos funcionarios.
