Joshua 4:22

Then ye shall let your children know
The meaning of the erection of these stones, acquaint them with the whole history, the meaning of which they are designed to perpetuate:

saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land;
and if they should ask how that could possibly be done, or if they did not, they were to inform them by what means it was brought about, as follows.

20 Entonces Josué erigió allí las piedras que habían tomado del cauce del Jordán,

21 y se dirigió a los israelitas: «En el futuro, cuando sus hijos les pregunten: “¿Por qué están estas piedras aquí?”,

22 ustedes les responderán: “Porque el pueblo de Israel cruzó el río Jordán en seco”.

23 El SEÑOR, Dios de ustedes, hizo lo mismo que había hecho con el Mar Rojo cuando lo mantuvo seco hasta que todos nosotros cruzamos.

24 Esto sucedió para que todas las naciones de la tierra supieran que el SEÑOR es poderoso, y para que ustedes aprendieran a temerlo para siempre».
