And a certain Talmid Chacham, a Baal Torah, stood up, testing Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach, saying, Rabbi, what mitzvah must I do to inherit Chayyei Olam?

And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to him, In the Torah what has been written? How do you read it?

And in reply the Baal Torah said, VAHAVTA ES ADONOI ELOHECHA BKHOL LVAVCHA UVECHOL NAFSHECHA UVECHOL MODECHA [DEVARIM 6:4,5] and L’REACHA KAMOCHA [DEVARIM 6:5; VAYIKRA 19:18]

And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to him, Your answer is frum. Richtik. Do this and you will live.

But because the Baal Torah wanted to justify himself, to be yitzdak im Hashem (justified with G-d, IYOV 25:4) on the basis of his own zchus (merit) he said to him, And who is my REA (neighbor)?
