King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
Which none of the princes of this world knew : for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written , Eye hath not seen , nor ear heard , neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received , not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
Which things also we speak , not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth ; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned . 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
