Weymouth New Testament (WNT) New International Version (NIV)
She knows how to be silent. She is full of trust, full of hope, full of patient endurance. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if there are languages, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be brought to an end. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For our knowledge is imperfect, and so is our prophesying; 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when the perfect state of things is come, all that is imperfect will be brought to an end. 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, felt like a child, reasoned like a child: when I became a man, I put from me childish ways. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
For the present we see things as if in a mirror, and are puzzled; but then we shall see them face to face. For the present the knowledge I gain is imperfect; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And so there remain Faith, Hope, Love--these three; and of these the greatest is Love. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
