and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 14 And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
Rejoice always, 16 Be joyful always;
pray constantly, 17 pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit, 19 Do not put out the Spirit's fire;
do not despise prophesying, 20 do not treat prophecies with contempt.
but test everything; hold fast what is good, 21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.
abstain from every form of evil. 22 Avoid every kind of evil.
May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
