In the second year of King Pekah son of Remaliah of Israel, King Jotham son of Uzziah of Judah began to reign. 32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign.
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok. 33 He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.
He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done. 34 He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done.
Nevertheless the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of the Lord. 35 The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the temple of the LORD.
Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah? 36 As for the other events of Jotham's reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
In those days the Lord began to send King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah. 37 (In those days the LORD began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.)
Jotham slept with his ancestors, and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David, his ancestor; his son Ahaz succeeded him. 38 Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David, the city of his father. And Ahaz his son succeeded him as king.
