And the Lord said to Noah, Take all your family and go into the ark, for you only in this generation have I seen to be upright. 1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
Of every clean beast you will take seven males and seven females, and of the beasts which are not clean, two, the male and his female; 2 Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,
And of the birds of the air, seven males and seven females, so that their seed may still be living on the face of the earth. 3 and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.
For after seven days I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, for the destruction of every living thing which I have made on the face of the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."
And Noah did everything which the Lord said he was to do. 5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
And Noah was six hundred years old when the waters came flowing over all the earth. 6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.
And Noah, with his sons and his wife and his sons' wives, went into the ark because of the flowing of the waters. 7 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Of clean beasts, and of beasts which are not clean, and of birds, and of everything which goes on the earth, 8 Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground,
In twos, male and female, they went into the ark with Noah, as God had said. 9 male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.
And after the seven days, the waters came over all the earth. 10 And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, all the fountains of the great deep came bursting through, and the windows of heaven were open; 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month--on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
And rain came down on the earth for forty days and forty nights. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
On the same day Noah, with Shem, Ham, and Japheth, his sons, and his wife and his sons' wives, went into the ark; 13 On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.
And with them, every sort of beast and cattle, and every sort of thing which goes on the earth, and every sort of bird. 14 They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.
They went with Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 15 Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.
Male and female of all flesh went in, as God had said, and the ark was shut by the Lord. 16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
And for forty days the waters were over all the earth; and the waters were increased so that the ark was lifted up high over the earth. 17 For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.
And the waters overcame everything and were increased greatly on the earth, and the ark was resting on the face of the waters. 18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.
And the waters overcame everything on the earth; and all the mountains under heaven were covered. 19 They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.
The waters went fifteen cubits higher, till all the mountains were covered. 20 The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet.
And destruction came on every living thing moving on the earth, birds and cattle and beasts and everything which went on the earth, and every man. 21 Every living thing that moved on the earth perished--birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind.
Everything on the dry land, in which was the breath of life, came to its end. 22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
Every living thing on the face of all the earth, man and cattle and things moving on the face of the earth, and birds of the air, came to destruction: only Noah and those who were with him in the ark, were kept from death. 23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
And the waters were over the earth a hundred and fifty days. 24 The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
