Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
16 And He told them a parable, saying, "The land of a rich man was very productive. 16 And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop.
17 "And he began reasoning to himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?' 17 He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'
18 "Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 18 "Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
19 'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."' 19 And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

22 And He said to His disciples, "For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. 22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.
23 "For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 23 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
24 "Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. 25 "And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life's span? 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

27 "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 27 "Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
28 "But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!
29 "And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
30 "For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31 "But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. 32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
33 "Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. 43 "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.

45 "But if that slave says in his heart, 'My master will be a long time in coming,' and begins to beat the slaves , both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; 45 But suppose the servant says to himself, 'My master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk.
46 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
49 "I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! 49 "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
